Who do I contact in the event of a power outage?
Your Transmission and Distribution Utility (TDU) is responsible for maintaining/servicing power lines as well as load shedding during an ERCOT mandated event when electricity is in high demand. TDUs also restore power during outages. In the event you experience an outage, please contact your TDU for assistance with restoration updates and timeframes.
RECs are issued when one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity is generated and delivered to the electricity grid from clean, renewable energy resources like wind, solar, hydro and biomass.
Demand Response
What is Demand Response?
Demand response is an intuitive response to energy peaks. When there's more demand on the grid, energy companies pay to turn on expensive plants to provide energy. Rather than doing this, we'd rather reduce energy usage so these plants don't have to turn on, and put those savings in your pocket. That's how you get paid to save energy!
How do I participate in Demand Response?
If you're enrolled in OhmConnect Energy, you're already participating! Every time you choose to reduce consumption during an energy saving event, you're reducing stress on the grid and helping all of us keep costs down.
